The concept for the former Perth Chest Clinic and Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) House has been unveiled by the WA State Government.
The proposal includes a 300 room hotel and a minimum 30,000sqm commercial office tower.
The bold and innovative design solution will transform and revitalise the Hay Street site, providing clear and legible entry points that will connect with pedestrians on the street level.
The shared spaces between the two buildings are activated to provide a quality public realm. Alandscaped plaza with restaurants, cafes and retail“pods” will provide welcome amenity for the eastern
CBD, and encourage the engagement of the surrounding commercial precinct by providing areas to meet, eat and gather.
The scheme also addresses the key heritage buildings, providing a careful response to the adaptive reuse of the Perth Chest Clinic Building.
HBO+EMTB Managing Director Kevin Fitzgerald said “This project is an opportunity to accommodate a hotel/mixed use program in a unique urban context. We are excited to partner with BGC and Starwood Hotels and Resorts to provide a new standard of hotel accommodation in the Perth CBD.”
