Two HOK Hospitality Projects Win Prestigious Gold Key Awards
HOK’s Rosewood Abu Dhabi and Jewel Suite by Martin Katz at The New York Palace have won Gold Key Awards, a top design honor in the hospitality industry.
The International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show (IHMRS) announced winners for the 34th annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design on November 10 at the Mandarin Oriental in New York. The elegant Gold Key Award Gala was presented by Boutique Design magazine and HOTELSmagazine.
HOK’s Rosewood Abu Dhabi won the Best Luxury Hotel award. The Rosewood Abu Dhabi is an ultra-luxury five-star hotel in the heart of the city’s new central business district on Al Maryah Island. The design creates a distinct, personalized luxury lifestyle experience that captures the essence of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts’ “Sense of Place” philosophy.
The Jewel Suite by Martin Katz at The New York Palace won the Best Suite honor. Designed in collaboration with acclaimed jewelry designer Martin Katz, the magnificent Jewel Suite merges romance, abstract elements of nature and Art Deco-inspired elements in a luxurious and luminous setting.
“Receiving accolades at the highest level possible for our design work is a testament to our team’s collective efforts,” said Julia Monk, senior vice president and director of hospitality interiors based in HOK’s Hong Kong office. “We are particularly grateful to be honored for projects completed both domestically and abroad and for work that celebrates elements of each project’s unique heritage and location.”
A record number of 280 entries were received and considered by the panel of judges. Awards recognized outstanding design for hospitality projects completed or renovated in the last year.
